Fee assumptions

eBay's final value fee base usually includes item price, buyer-paid shipping, handling, sales tax, and other charges. This calculator uses that standard base and then subtracts your product and shipping costs to estimate profit.

Actual account charges can differ because of seller performance, store subscription level, refunds, category exceptions, taxes on fees, international shipping exceptions, dispute fees, ad program terms, and optional listing upgrades.

eBay fee calculator FAQ

How are eBay final value fees calculated?

eBay final value fees are usually a category-based percentage of the total sale amount plus a per-order fee. The total sale amount generally includes the item price, shipping, handling, sales tax, and other buyer-paid charges.

Does eBay charge fees on shipping?

Yes. In the standard case, eBay includes shipping collected from the buyer when it calculates the final value fee. Some exceptions apply, such as certain eBay International Shipping and Authenticity Guarantee scenarios.

What is eBay's per-order fee?

For most eBay orders, the per-order fee is $0.30 when the order total is $10.00 or less and $0.40 when the order total is over $10.00. Some special categories, such as qualifying athletic shoes, can avoid the per-order fee.

Are promoted listing fees included?

This calculator includes an optional promoted listing ad rate. Enter your ad rate to estimate the extra advertising fee as a percentage of the sale amount.

Is this an official eBay fee quote?

No. This is an estimate for planning listing prices and profit. eBay can apply additional fees, discounts, seller-performance adjustments, taxes, refunds, or category-specific rules in your account.
